In The Desert Peach 23, “Visions,” the Peach, as a trained military engineer, can think of no better project for his aimless and frustrated men than to build a bridge. Little does he know he will be offering his brother, The Desert Fox, a military temptation. Udo's tribal in-laws, the Bedu-Tauregs, charge in on camels to bless the bridge and cover it with heathen amulets. The camp Nazi and good Christian, Leutnant Kjars "Human Swastika" Winzig is about to blow a blood vessel! This issue features some of the author's very favorite cover art, for line and color and yumminess. And -- an extra treat -- some colorful Wonder Woman parodies done for a charity auction for a women's shelter. "Now I know why Donna Barr is a maniac -- there's a lot going on 'twix her ears! Comics like hers are so far ahead of their time -- the price you pay for truth and originality... I think I'm going to start bragging to my friends that that I kinda know the person who draws 'The Desert Peach!' -- Mary Fleener, “Fleener!”
"Love, Honor, Death and Tea" - the perfect description for the life of The Desert Peach, the Desert Fox's younger, gay brother. Based on the stranger - but too often true - side of World War Two, this classic series has changed lives, scrambled minds, and inspired peers for two generations.
